Djordje’s life continued to crash down around him. He needed help—God’s help—but didn’t know where to turn or how to ask.

Before God’s Word took hold of Djordje’s heart, he “felt empty inside,” and tried filling the void with everything but God. “God was just a tradition for me. I had heard stories about Him, but wasn’t interested in knowing Him personally.”

Nowhere to turn
Djordje’s life continued to crash down around him. He needed help—God’s help—but didn’t know where to turn or how to ask. Then a young man named Dimitrijie, a Bible League-trained worker, arrived in the neighborhood to lead Bible studies.

A hunger to learn
“I accepted an invitation to attend,” says Djordje. “For the first time in my life, I listened to the Word of God.” He returned week after week to participate in the Bible study, and received a Bible of his very own when he completed it. “I wanted to learn more,” he says.

“I feel God’s love . . .”
“I stopped drinking alcohol and I’ve seen a big difference in my life and in the lives of my family. I feel God’s love among us, and I seek Him more and more in my life. He is the only one who helped me when I needed help.

“I want to share the Gospel wherever I go,” Djordje notes today. “I want every person to experience God’s love like I have.”
