The impact of your partnership in China

Summer was told that believing in Jesus would heal his father. So Summer believed — but his faith was not deep or rooted in God’s Word.

Summer is a twenty-something Bible League-trained Christian who's dedicated the last five years to serving the Lord. But he wasn't  a born Christian. When he was young, he said, “I did not believe in any God. In China, if you said ‘I believe in Jesus,’ people will look down on you. So, like many young people, I would not even consider such a thing.”

That changed when Summer’s father became seriously  ill. Many people in their neighborhood told his family that if they believed in Jesus, his father would recover. “In the beginning, we believed with a motive that father would be healed,” Summer said. “But my understanding was shallow, and I had no direct relationship with God.”

Still, he faithfully attended church and began reading a New Testament. One day he read in Romans that everyone must die and face judgment. "All at once," Summer explained, “God gave me a clear command to serve Him. But to do that, I need the Bible just like a baby needs milk — this is what every Christian needs.”

In China there are not enough Bibles. “Where I work for the Lord, so many people have no Bible— many have never even see one,” Summer said. “Yet God is raising up many young people who long to preach the Gospel.”

Summer knows there are people around the world who care about him and his Christian brothers and sisters, and he prays for their help.
“Please pray for my church,” he pleads. “Pray for the spreading of the Gospel—it must be heard everywhere in China.

Pray that believers will get Bibles and good teachers. And please pray that God prepares my footsteps so I will not stumble, and so that my travels are without trouble. We in China pray for the Church all over the world, that many people will  become members of Christ’s body, and receive Jesus’ message.”
